Picnic blankets & BBQs at the ready: time to plan your outdoor gatherings!

At the time of writing, from Monday 29th March we will officially be permitted to gather outdoors with those outside our household, which means one thing – picnics and BBQs, as soon as the weather permits!

As always, we’re here to make sure your foodie fayre is as fabulous as ever. We’ve got everything you need, from Little Pigs’ expertly prepared meat to Thatcher’s Bakery’s baked treats – as well as a few handy recipes along the way.

A beautiful BBQ

Our local butcher Little Pigs Didsbury does not disappoint when it comes to their BBQ offering of burgers, sausages, kebabs and steaks. Here are our top picks:

Prime Beef Burgers – a BBQ staple, these burgers are made from selected cuts of locally sourced prime beef mince.

Lamb & Mint Kebabs – a stand out garden party dish, these perfectly prepared lamb & mint kebabs are extremely moreish.

Cumberland Sausages - a show stopping sausage with bags of flavour and a delicious meaty texture.

Prime Rib Eye Steaks – with a long winter behind us, it’s safe to say you deserve a treat! These steaks are just the ticket, flavourful and succulent.

Don’t forget your fresh brioche buns and rolls from Thatcher’s Bakery to complete your spread!

A perfect picnic

If it’s a park picnic rather than a garden BBQ you have in mind, we’ve got you covered. Here is a selection of our favourite handheld treats to pack in your hamper:

Thatcher’s Sticky Toffee Slices – moist and moreish, these are some of our latest additions to Thatcher’s range.

Sultana Scones – afternoon tea alfresco? Look no further than these sweet scones, packed with fruit and unbeatable slathered with jam and cream.
