Join our Summer Foodie Bingo

Summer is in full swing, and we want to make the most of it with you.

We’ve put together a Summer Foodie Bingo - eight challenges inspired by the best bits of the British summer. Tick off as many as you can before the season is out, tag us in your pics on social media, and make this the summer you actually do all those things you always mean to.

1. Try a new recipe

Summer is a great time to cook something you’ve never tried before. Browse our recipes for inspiration from Manchester foodie SpamellaB and our Best of Local suppliers, or head to our Instagram for quick ideas using British ingredients.

2. Make a salad with seasonal produce

July and August are two of the best months for British produce. Tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, radishes, raspberries, and strawberries are all at their peak right now. Head to our summer Best of Local range to find seasonal fruit and veg handpicked from local markets by our greengrocer.

3. Host a BBQ

A good BBQ starts with great produce. Brush up on your skills with our BBQ guide, then pick up some premium burgers, wings and sausages from our local butcher. All that’s left is to gather your friends and family, prep your ingredients, and fire up the charcoal!

4. Cook with something from your garden

Courgettes in the raised bed, tomatoes on the vine, even just that pot of herbs on the windowsill - pick something fresh and build a meal around it. Cooking with something you’ve grown yourself always makes the meal taste better.

5. Have a picnic

Pack a cool bag, grab a blanket, and make an afternoon of it. For ideas on what to pack and where to go, take a look at our guide to the perfect picnic, and our list of the best parks and gardens across the North West.

6. Visit a market or support a local supplier

Get out and discover what’s on your doorstep. Visit a farmers market, pick something up from a local deli, or try a producer you haven’t ordered from before. Every time you choose local, it makes a difference to the people behind the product. Browse our Best of Local shop to discover the North West producers we work with – you might just find a new favourite right round the corner!

7. Enjoy dinner outside

Set up a table in the garden, take a plate out to the patio, or find a picnic table somewhere green. Eating outside is one of the best bits about this time of year, and in the North West  – we know that it’s worth making the most of before the rain comes back again!

8. Make homemade ice cream or lollies

You don’t need a fancy machine to make ice cream at home. Our no-churn vanilla ice cream uses just five ingredients and goes straight into the freezer. For lollies, blend seasonal fruit with a little yogurt, pour into moulds, and freeze overnight – it makes a nutritious and much-loved treat for little ones. Find the full recipe on our Facebook, and get everything you need from your next Creamline delivery.

9. Free space - make it yours!

This one is yours to decide. Whether it’s a summer tradition you do every year, or you’re trying something completely new, we’d love to see it!

Once you start ticking off squares, share your progress with us on Instagram or Facebook. Tag us in your BBQ plates, picnic spreads, and homemade ice cream attempts – we'll be sharing our favourites all summer long.
