Recycling your milk bottles - what you need to know
At Creamline, we’re proud to deliver milk the old-fashioned way – in returnable glass bottles, straight to your doorstep. But have you ever wondered what actually happens to those bottles once you rinse and return them? Or how many times a single bottle can be reused?
Here’s everything you need to know about recycling with Creamline – and how you’re helping to make a big difference with a small action.
Why we love glass bottles
Glass milk bottles aren’t just nostalgic – they’re an easy way to reduce plastic waste at home. Unlike single-use plastic, glass can be reused again and again… and again once more!
• A single Creamline bottle can be reused up to 40 times before it's recycled.
• Glass is 100% recyclable and doesn’t lose quality – it can be melted down and turned into new glass forever.
• Returning your bottles helps cut down on plastic waste and reduces your carbon footprint.
What happens to your returned bottles?
Every bottle returned goes back to the dairy for a thorough clean and reuse – or, if it’s reached the end of its life, off it goes to be recycled into something new.
• We send your returned bottles back to our dairy where they’re:
• Washed and sterilised to the highest standards
• Refilled with fresh local milk
• Delivered back out to the North West – ready for another early morning doorstep delivery
It’s a system that’s been working perfectly for decades – if it’s not broken, don’t fix it!
Good for your doorstep, even better for the environment
By sticking with returnable bottles, you’re doing your bit to help reduce landfill, cut plastic usage, and support a greener future – all without leaving your house.
Whether you’ve been using glass bottles for decades or are brand new to the world of doorstep milk, thank you for helping us keep things greener.
