Organic milk is a popular choice in our Daily Essentials range. But what actually makes it different from other milk?
We’ve excited to share the news that we’re now partnering with Calon Wen to bring you your organic milk. They are an organic farm co-operative based in Wales who have been producing award-winning dairy products for over 25 years. They supply organic milk to both independent retailers and national supermarkets – and we’re proud to say that now includes delivery from your local milkman through us at Creamline!
Putting animal welfare first
Organic farms make a commitment to championing animal welfare and protecting the environment, in line with international standards. For example, the happy cows on Calon Wen’s farms live outside for three quarters of the year, giving them plenty of time to graze on clover-rich pastures and enjoy the fresh air. These pastures are farmed without any artificial chemical fertilisers, and only use natural pest control.
Sourced from organic co-operative farms
Calon Wen organic farm co-operative includes more than 20 family farms in Wales. The co-operative model allows the farmers to sell their own milk through their own company. At Creamline, we champion independent and family-run businesses whenever we can, like the artisan suppliers in our Best of Local range.
Organic milk deliveries in reusable glass bottles
Our organic milk is available in traditional glass bottles – it's just one small way we do our bit to cut down on single use plastic. Just rinse out your empty bottles and leave them out on your doorstep, and your local roundspeople will pick them up next time they deliver to you.
Vitamin-rich goodness
Like all dairy milk, organic milk is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It’s a great source of calcium, which keeps our bones and teeth healthy and strong. Not only that, but it’s also a protein powerhouse – milk is a ‘complete’ protein, meaning it contains all nine of the amino acids we need to stay healthy.
