Banish the blues and get out and about!

This week saw Blue Monday come and go! If the dark days and chilly weather are getting you down, why not make the most of the daylight hours and get out and about on one of the many walks around Greater Manchester?

According to Walking for Health, a good walk can have a real feel good factor and boost our mood. It’s the perfect winter activity for the whole family – so get wrapped up, tie up your walking shoes and give one of these routes a try!

  • Historic Houses, Highest Hill – a trip from historic Smithills Hall to Winter Hill, you can be certain of stunning views on this walk!
  • Mam Tor Ridge from Castleton – you’ll be warmed up in no time, taking in the scenery of the Edale Valley on this walk of around 6 miles.
  • Irwell Sculpture Trail – if you’re looking for a walk with little ones in tow, this is the one for you! With over 30 sculptures over a stretch of 33 miles through Salford, this walk can be as long or short as you make it.
