Bringing the café home

We love popping into our favourite coffee shop, but those daily trips can soon add up. The good news? You don’t need to leave the house - or spend a fortune - to enjoy barista-style brew whenever you fancy. We've got everything you need to take your home coffee game up a notch.

Our Brades Farm barista milk is rich, creamy and full-bodied, just the ticket for whipping up silky-smooth latte art - and it's even better paired with a local blend from Worker Bee Coffee. If you’re after something light and mellow, give their Victoria Mill blend a go. Prefer something a bit richer? Try their Old Mill ground coffee - it’s packed with fruity acidity and delicious malty notes. They’re perfect alongside some of our tasty pastries, too!

These recipes will also work with regular milk, although you should be more careful about burning the milk. Not a milk drinker? No worries! These recipes work just as well with our Barista Soya Drink

Here are four café favourites you can make at home if you’ve got a coffee machine or milk frother:

Cortado

This Spanish classic is super simple to make! Start by brewing a double shot of Worker Bee espresso. Then, steam around 60ml of milk until it’s warm and slightly aerated (but not too foamy). Simply pour the milk over the espresso and enjoy!

Flat White

The flat white has become a staple here in Britain, especially over the past couple of decades. With roots in Australia and New Zealand, this smooth, balanced drink is a café classic, with a velvety texture that doesn’t overpower the richness of the coffee.

Start by brewing a double shot of espresso through your preferred method, then steam roughly 100ml of milk until it’s glossy and sticks to the rim of the mug. Pour your steamed milk over the espresso, ensuring it breaks on the side of the mug to mix properly.

Mocha

A mocha is the perfect mix of bold coffee and sweet, velvety chocolate - just the right way to kick off your day! Start by blending a tablespoon of Worker Bee’s Luxury Hot Chocolate with a splash of hot water, add a shot of espresso and stir until smooth. Then, top with steamed barista milk and dust the top with cocoa powder.

Iced latte

Why not refresh and recharge this summer with this iced latte recipe? It’s ideal for a hot weather caffeine kick. Start by brewing a strong cup of coffee, whichever way you prefer (espresso, French press, or drip coffee maker). Allow this to cool to room temperature or put it in the fridge. If you’re after a sweeter drink, add 1-2 tbsp of maple syrup or your sweetener of choice. Next, add roughly 150ml of milk to a container and lightly froth until golden and shiny, then add to the coffee. Serve by filling a tall glass with ice cubes, pouring over the mixture, and stirring gently.

If you’re an oat milk drinker, why not check out our Oato iced coffee recipe

However you start your day, we hope you enjoy a bolder morning with these recipes!
